TV shows make mistakes. I have heard even attorneys confuse "parole" with "probation". The same is true of firearms and many other topics. A very common error is saying that a revolver has a safety. It doesn´t, but the mistake is often heard. Writers make mistakes, and sometimes these mistakes are not found before filming.
