Mensagem:  Maybe I'm missing something, but what Tom and Johannes are saying sounds like what we normally hear here. The party is planned for July 16th, 2005.* The party is planned for July the 16th, 2005.* The party is planned for the 16th of July, 2005.* The party is planned for July 16, 2005.** She arrives on the third of next month.** The store opens on Monday the 28th.** *Spoken English **Written and spoken English I would NOT say: The party is planned for 16 July. The party is planned for 16th July. I was born on 28 February. (This sounds military. See below.***) I was born on 28th February. Tom knows more about this than I, but I believe in the military the correct way to say this is: "The party is planned for 16 July 2005."*** ***This would sound a little odd among civilians. This would sound a very odd, in fact. I leave for Paris on Monday. On Sundays I go the stadium to watch my favorite team.
