Thanks for the follow-up, Bruno, that's interesting. I would say that it doesn't strike me as particularily 'self-sufficient' to have to import diesel and gasoline. From what you have said Brasil's energy situation is no more self-sufficient nor sustainable than that of the US. Import-export is fine so long as there is energy to drive it. By the way, what do you think of the severe drought in the Amazon? Caused by global warming, they say. More severe storms in Central and North America, and perhaps drastic changes in the Amazon seem to be likely. I would prepare for the likelihood of drier conditions in Brasil. Rain-water storage is a good idea for everyone, not just in Amazonia. |
