Unfortunately the nytimes doesn't give free access to it's archives.
One must read it on the first day. The article did talk about the
problem of navigating the rivers and of forest fires. Crops are rotting
because they can't be transported (this is also happening in the US
because of New Orleans being closed). The times, they are a-changing. Certainly, expense is relative. No doubt even plastic barrels to catch rain-water would be too expensive for most residents of the nordeste. But it is much cheaper than drilling wells. Of course, if it doesn't rain , they dont help. The nordeste has always been dry, hasn't it? |
