What is the meaning of the phrasal verb "to ante up" in the following sentence:
'Each player antes up a marble, and they are randomly scattered around the playing field' (it´s about the game "marbles").
According to my dictionary "to ante up" means to pay an amount of money in order to do be able to do or be involved in something! |
