Dear Ricardo. I strongly desagre with you when you said that what the native speaker has to offer can be seen as a threat to the chain philosophy. Native speakers are NOT seen as a threat to the chain schools. Native speakers are very welcome and would be hired much easier just because they are native speakers. As you said Ricardo, they do not care if you have a degree in languages or if you have any qualifications as long as you are a native speaker. But there are some schools which do care about that but some do not. Independent schools tend to be more flexible as regards the rules in the classroom, what you have to do and all the sort of things. So, my friend John, do not think that you are going to be looked down on because it´s pretty much on the contrary. As long as you are willing to follow the rules you are not going to have any problems at all. You are likely to find a job easily in Rio de Janeiro or in São Paulo where there are loads of schools and one thing that you are not going to be seen is a "threat". no worries mate !! just one question John, what do you mean by "decent job" ? all the best and Good luck !!
