Mensagem:      Aman, my guess is that full range of the use of 'yet' is one of those things that a non-native speaker is probably never going to get an intuitive grasp of.

The rules that you already know probably suffice for most things that you may want to express. When you hear or see 'yet' in a position or context that doesn't make sense to you or fit the rules you may be able to get somewhat close to the intended meaning by ignoring it in the sentence.
