| Mensagem: | It is correct because 'had' is in past tense; both verbs cannot be in past tense so the second must be present. Otherwise one can say: 'Yesterday my cleaning lady did (or made) all the beds' In american english, 'make' the bed is more commonly used than 'do' the bed. If you use the present participle in that construction, the sense is a bit different: 'yesterday I had the cleaning lady making all the beds'..... It is unclear whether the job was finished or not. |
