Mensagem:  Realizar is not a friendly cognate and I should have used perceber in that sentence. You are right. No excuse on my part except I was watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on tv and not paying full attention to what I was doing. I have not read the book in question but I will. I did some research on it at Amazon.com and have decided to get it from the library because it seems to be full of all of the little details that show life as it really is. When I started writing about the problems associated with being overweight it had nothing to do with grammar. But, I think understanding people and their culture is just as important as knowing their language. This is turning into a fast food world and that isn't in the best interest of the human race, Tom
