I think the written language works as an anchor, the speaking language is tied to it. The changes that happen in the speaking form are fast, and are consolidated in a slower rate into the written form. But this incorporation is so slow that sometimes it seems that speaking and written languages are not only different, but completely different. Actually, they are different means, like movies and theather are different means to express human feelings. Maria Valeska |
