suggest that “reading is what happens when people see a text and attribute meaning to the symbols employed in it.”
Sense is created by the interaction OF the text and the reader . Reading models in the mother tongue were created (elaborated(?)) to describe this interaction and what happens when people read. The tHree main models of how reading occurS are the Top-down , bottom-up and Interactive. These three models will be discussed IN DETAIL furtherON. Those models are also being used to describe how reading in A second language/foreign language take place.
My attempt :
Reading is THE process of building (ABSTRACTING (?)) sense from (THROUGH (?)) the dynamic interaction BETWEEN THE READER'S EXISTING KNOWLEDGE, THE INFORMATION SUGGESTED BY THE WRITTEN TEXT AND THE SITUATIONAL CONTEXT OF THE READING.
