Dear Dale, I did get what you meant. I just hadn't realized (known) that was a common usage. [google registers over 23,000,000 possible matches]. e.g. "Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without." by BuddhaWhat I wondered was the choice for "without" since the pair 'within-without' does not seem to be semantically associated, right? [Am I mistaken once again? please, correct me] I'd guess it's much more a sort of word play, maybe? It sounds good... that's it!? Can we reason language???? ;) |
