He did say that, and though I knew he was wrong I didn't feel like engaging in a discussion. After all, the guy is American and I'm not. I believe I've figured that out anyway. The point is that normally Americans won't use that sense of the verb to convey an action they are not sure is finished. They'd rather say "I've been drinking" than "I've drunk". Hope I made myself clear. Take care. |
