one might consider.....
- an analogy is to use the expression 'someone is well-schooled'
- i assume the use of 'churched' is similar - it is stretching the boundaries a bit but is standard use of that form of the verb to describe something (past part. as adj.)
- subjected to / placed under the influence of / caught up in the activities, events, behaviour associated with / became familiarised with
