Brazilians students learning English can find tricky words, that happens because we have words (highly similar in English) known as 'false friends'. That´s what happens with 'trânsito' (the road and street stuff), in English speaking countries it is traffic (yes, it is traffic, the very same word that they use to say about somebody that trades drugs, but the sense here is different). Transit to them have to do 'passagem', in transit - de passagem, code of transit - the code that says wich way you might go at metro (subway) or aboard (in a ship) to keep people of colliding each other head-on.
