I disagree, it might be cumbersome for the non-native speaker, for native speakers it is very functional and according to some theories of communication redundancy is good to convey communication. 

Another thing, there are non indo-european languages which would  twist our minds horribly because of their rich system of agreement (language in which the agreement of a verb depends on the subject and also the object like Georgian if I am not mistaken)  but for the native spekear I don't think there would be anything "cumbersome" in the system they use to convey thoughts.
