Today I feel more comfortable with spoken English. I'm able to watch movies, TV series, interviews, etc. without much effort or none at all.I'm not sure why, but news programme is still something that I have to deal with; songs, which are a real challenge for many, are not a problem to me, I just have to read the lyrics, once or twice (sometimes "X" times) and problem solved. In order to improve my understanding of spoken English, I have studied pronunciation. I have studied things like: how stress works , formal and informal pronunciation, letters that can be left out when pronouncing words, how to link words toguether, the way native speakers of English spoke (What they were saying was not my focus, my focus was how they were saying) and completely forgot about the way the words were written so I could capture "The-REAL soundo-fENGLISH". I also agree with everything that was answered in the other posts.Regarding Dale's caipira accent, also consider that the guy could be a gypsy.I have heard many gypsies speak that way.Enteeende? |
