Fernanda, For a student in Brazil to pick a Letras graduate over a teacher who has lived abroad is news to me. Where did you learn that one? ( I mean, Where did you hear about that one?) Let me know which part of Brazil is selecting Letras graduates over ESL teachers who have lived abroad. I know that some school ssuch as Fisk, or CCAA, and the bi-national institutes have their preferences over Letras graduates but if you have both Letras and international experience and if you have great skills and very good working skills you are in. But the greater part of the ESL schools in Brazil DO NOT care if you a Letras graduate specially in big cities -- they want teacher who really have a mastery of the spoken language. |
