"Cherry" has other meanings. In the military, it's a soldier who has no or limited prior combat experience. The newest soldier in a combat unit is often called "Cherry" until he is replaced by someone even greener (less experienced). "Tell the cherry that the captain wants to see him." "Hey, Cherry! Where's your rifle?" "Cherry" can almost mean great, fantastic, beautiful, etc. It is used primarily to describe vehicles in perfect condition. Perfect, not necessarily new. This slang word is getting old. It was much more common in the 1960s "He is selling a 1975 VW Bug in cherry condition." . |
